Early Childhood Distance Learning
In response to an executive order from Governor Walz regarding COVID-19, District 196 implemented distance learning on Monday, March 30, through at least May 4. All early childhood programming will be supported through online communication and all district buildings are closed. Our early childhood distance learning plan includes providing unique and engaging learning opportunities for children ages birth to five and their parents. We recognize that learning at home and/or online provides a different educational experience.
Current Enrolled Children/Parents
You can continue to learn at home! Your teacher should have already connected with you. If not, check your email for a message from your teacher (you may have to look in your spam or junk mail). If you haven’t heard from your teacher, call the program you’re enrolled in and someone will help you connect with your teacher.

Teachers are using online platforms such as SeeSaw and Zoom to conduct their classes. On the Zoom app, teachers and parents can meet virtually for brief discussion groups. Teachers will send meeting links/codes to the parents of children enrolled in their classes. Through the SeeSaw app, children will receive short video recordings from their teacher with story times, songs and activities. And parent educators may send materials related to the topic for parents to access when it’s convenient for them.
