Connections Preschool Fall 2020
Connections Preschool students will start the 2020-21 school year in a hybrid learning model, with a combination of learning at school and from home, following the state’s localized, data-driven plan to safely reopen schools called the Minnesota Safe Learning Plan. As much as we wanted to return to full-time in-person learning, we continue to rely on public health data and directives from the state to prioritize a safe learning environment for students, teachers, staff and families.
How Preschool Hybrid Works
- All Connections Preschool students will attend school in person one or two designated days each week, in A and B cohorts. On the alternate days, students will be learning from home.
- Cohorts will be determined for all grade levels alphabetically (or by family) so students living in the same household attend school in person on the same days. This will apply in preschool to the best of our ability.
- Each cohort will be approximately half of the students enrolled in the current class.
There will also be a distance learning option called 196 Digital Academy. Families who are already enrolled in the Connections Preschool Program had the option to choose 196 Digital Academy prior to by August 16, 2020. The 196 Digital Academy is a distance learning option that is designed with students and families at the center. While we are physically distanced, our teachers and staff remain committed to providing meaningful connections with your child and responding to family needs.
