ECFS Advisory Council

Purpose

Advise and assist the Early Childhood Family Services Department in the fulfillment of the Early Childhood Family Services mission of providing quality learning opportunities and resources for parents/guardians and their children during the years from birth up to kindergarten.

We are seeking new members who wish to be a part of ECFS mission. Membership consists of up to 24 district residents, employees of collaborative agencies or employees of ISD196. To apply, complete the ECFS Advisory Council and Foundation Application Form.

What does the Advisory Council do?

The ECFS (Early Childhood Family Services) Advisory Council supports Early Childhood programming within District 196. This programming includes Early Childhood Family Education, Connections Preschool and Family School. The Advisory Council is a highly valued resource for District 196 ECFS and assists in the development, planning and monitoring of Early Childhood Family Education programs within the District by but not limited to:

Giving input into the Early Childhood Family Services program
Acting as a liaison between the program and the community
Advocating legislators on behalf of ECFS
Organizing community events and fundraising activities

What are the qualifications?

Connected to District 196 Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools (resident, business owner, student, teacher)
Available to meet monthly for ten months
Great communication skills and the ability to engage others in the process
Committed to lifelong learning and willing to learn
Able to work in a group setting
Willing to share expertise and skills
Action oriented
