Youth Connection Council Bagging Groceries Nov. 24
Members of Community Education’s Youth Connection Council (YCC) plan to bag groceries as a community service fundraiser for Spare Key from 4-9 p.m., on Tuesday, November 24, at the Cub Foods located at 1020 Diffley Road (corner of Diffley and Lexington) in Eagan. The funds raised will be donated to the Spare Key organization--a local group that grants mortgage payments to Minnesota families with critically ill or seriously injured children. Founders Patsy Keech (a District 196 teacher) and her husband Robb started the organization in 1997 as a result of their experiences with the serious illness and subsequent loss of their two year old son, Derian. YCC is composed of middle and high school students from throughout District 196. The group initiates many community service-learning projects.
